IEEE RRVS: Overview of different Microwave absorbing materials
IEEE Rock River Valley Section Meeting
Join the IEEE RRVS EMC chapter and RRVS Affinity Groups for this iteresting technical presentation.
The presentation gives an overview of different Microwave absorbing materials used from a few MHz
to GHz.
During the presention we will try to clarify some of the “black magic of absorbers. An answer will be
given on questions like:
What is the difference between shielding and absorbers?
Why use shielding or absorbers?
What are the difference between the different type of absorbers?
Some “Use case” are used to show the benefits of absorbers in modern electronic systems.
Yoeri Ariën is the Microwave Product and R&D Manager at Schlegel Electronic materials specializing
in electromagnetic modelling and characterization. Previously he was Scientist at Emerson & Cuming
Microwave Products designing and testing of advanced absorber solutions. He has a MS degree in in
Electronics Engineering.
