This presentation examines two Course Outlines, traditional and hybrid, for a  Module (Radio Communication Equipment Installation) in the Telecom program at the Pearson Electrotechnology Centre, located in Montreal Canada.

Biography:

Geoffrey Alleyne is a fully license teacher in the Province of Quebec, Canada where he teaches in the Telecommunication Department at Pearson Electrotechnology Centre (PEC) specializing in:  Antennas and Propagation, Radio Communication, Repeater Systems, Wireless Equipment, and Cellular Systems.  He received the BEng. Degree in Electrical Engineering from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada, in 1980, the MEng. Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Chicago, USA, in 2010, and the B.Ed. Degree in Technical Education from the University of Sherbrooke, Sherbrooke, Canada in 2016. He also holds the following: Graduate Certificates in Wireless Communications (2009), and Engineering Law and Management (2009) from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and Telecommunication Technician Certificates (2nd and 3rd level) from City and Guilds of London Institute (1971)

Prior to joining PEC at its inception in 2008 he worked in many areas of Radio Communication (Microwave System Engineering, Product Support, Validation, Troposcatter System Engineering, Broadband Wireless Access, and Project Engineering in Satellite Communications, UHF,VHF, HF, and Test Equipment Repair and Calibration) spanning approximately 40 years both as an Engineer and Technician at Nortel and Canadian Marconi (Canada), Comtech Systems and Nexcom Inc. (United States of America), and Cable and Wireless (Barbados). He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) and is very active in the local chapters of, “Teacher in Service Program” and “Education Society.”
