Biography:

As the Vice President of Engineering and Head of Innovation at F5, a global cybersecurity company headquartered in Seattle, Roxy Stimpson has a proven track record of leveraging technology, lean-agile processes, and human connections to deliver positive impacts.

Before joining F5, Roxy co-founded and served as Chief Technology Officer at IoT World Labs, where she built an IoT, analytics, and data platform adopted by several enterprise companies worldwide.

Roxy also led a large organization with 4K+ members as 2020-2021 District 2 Director, one of 123 District Directors worldwide in Toastmasters International – a global nonprofit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills. Her mission is to inspire and empower individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders.

Roxy's story is one of resilience and determination. As a Vietnamese-American war refugee, she has overcome countless challenges to become the successful entrepreneur and engineering leader she is today. She holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Washington and is pursuing a Master of Science in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance.

Roxy's story:
"When I was 3.5 years old in the Vietnam War, I almost lost my left arm because my home got bombed. My grandmother used her homemade medicine to save it instead of letting the doctor cut my arm off.

As a 21-year-old, I came to the U.S. from Vietnam in 1993 with my parents, sisters, and brother as refugees and could barely speak English. We got assigned to Seattle; however, while in Vietnam, we tried to learn from cassette tapes recorded by New Yorkers at JFK airport. All I dreamed of was getting to go to college. I graduated from the University of Washington with a B.S. in Computer Science in 1998. To me, the USA is a place where dreams come true. Thank you."
