Applying to Upgrade to Senior Member

Are you qualified for upgrade to IEEE Senior Member?  If you have been in professional practice as an engineering designer, researcher, instructor, or consultant for 10 years or more, you probably are.  Then, if you can document at least 60-months worth of Significant Performance during that 10 or more years, you are!  Actually, more IEEE members are qualified than they believe themselves to be because college can count for up to 5-years of Professional Experience.

Central Texas Section (CTS) is hosting an event will remove the mystery of what is required for Professional Experience and Significant Performance.  CTS will even take care of the required Reference Writers for you.

For this event, you will need to bring a laptop or a notebook to work on the application details.  You will also need to download and complete the R-3 Sr. Member resume before the event; the resume form will help us with your application.   R3-Sr. Member Resume Template 1.2  We have also the CTS Sr. Member Application Guidance document to help you.  Sr. Mem Application Guidance 8.1.pdf   Do not start the application ahead of time; we will initiate it there.

The schedule is to meet at the Balcones Country Club starting at 6:30.  As you come in the main entrance, look for the IEEE banner or tell the concierge you are here for the Sr. Member event.  Dinner will be a buffet serving of:

Chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans, salad, coffee & tea, and desert.

The initial presentation will start at 7, with individual work to follow.  Our plan is to have everyone nominated before we leave for the evening; Reference Writers can be assigned by the Section (CTS) later.

The cost of the meal will be covered by CTS.  However, we are requiring all applicants to pay a $10 administrative fee via V-tools.  V-tools registration is required to attend.
