FAIRVALLE BOOK DRIVE & IEEE PES KIDS FOR CLIMATE ACTION SERIES
IEEE PES KENYA - FAIRVALE JUNIOR SCHOOL - KUA HURU
The Fairvalle Junior Academy in Donholm are looking to have a book fund raising drive for their students on 30th June 2023. Antony Mwangi, the Kenyan artist famously known as Anto Neosoul, has requested that we collaborate with them on this drive. This came on the heels of our successful first-of-its-kind Kids For Climate Action event, which we co-hosted with Artcaffe and Peekaboo, with Anto as our special guest. Some of the kids from Fairvalle also participated and won a prize for one of the best drawings.
IEEE PES Kenya will be supporting the Book Drive and integrate Kids For Climate Action Series which will entail drawings and tree planting session. We will also bring on board Kua Huru for mental health awareness alongside this tree planting and growing initiative.
Kua huru is a consciousness artist and author who uses his poetry, music and influence to impact communities on matters mental health
and environmental conservation. He is the author of: IN THE BOOK OF HUH! Which talks about consciousness on being.

Biography:
Eng. Harisson Keter is the Assistant Operations Manager at KenGen Plc. He is also the Chairperson of the IEK South Rift Branch.
• Experience in Electromechanical engineering projects with specialization in operation and maintenance of power plants and renewable energy technology, particularly in Geothermal Energy Technology and in hydropower; Capable of carrying out survey/design and feasibility study of micro/mini-hydropower projects
• Competent in hydraulic and hydropower engineering project formulation, survey, design and implementation of Pico to small hydro size projects
• Experienced in project management and coordination among various stakeholders
• Environmental Impact assessment and Audit, Socio-economic Studies)
• Demonstrated professional communication skills and interpersonal team-building abilities
• Skilled in repair civil structures, operation and maintenance of electromechanical machines and equipment.
