Inauguration of IEEE Reliability Society and Talk on Engineering for Humanity
On Wednesday, May 10, 2023, the inaugural ceremony of the Reliability Society took place, marking the beginning of a new chapter. The event commenced with the traditional Tamil Thai Vazhthu, followed by the symbolic lighting of the lamp, which was carried out by a distinguished group of individuals from Sri Sairam Engineering College. This group included Dr. Porkumaran K, the Principal and Chairman of the IEEE Madras Session of Sri Sairam Engineering College, Dr. Brindha S, the IEEE Student Branch Counselor, Dr. Ananthi M, the IEEE Reliability Society Advisor and Head of the Department of CSBS, and Mr. Kharthick Rham M, Graduate Engineer Trainee JSW - Mumbai.
The ceremony was inaugurated by Manish M, the Chairperson of IEEE RS, who delivered a warm welcome speech. Dr. Porkumaran formally welcomed all the dignitaries present and took the opportunity to address the group, emphasizing the significance and benefits of being part of IEEE.
Dr. Ananthi M delivered a special speech focusing on the current event and announced the office bearers and executive members of the IEEE Reliability Society. Esteemed chief guests, Dr. Steven Li, Dr. Janet Lin, and Mrs. Loretta Arellano provided a concise overview of the "Role of Reliability Society" in the first session. In the second session, Mr. Kharthick Rham discussed the theme "Engineering for Humanity."
The occasion concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Arulnithi R G, the Vice-Chairperson of IEEE RS, expressing gratitude to all the attendees and participants for their presence and contributions throughout the ceremony. Following the vote of thanks, the event concluded with a rendition of the National Anthem, symbolizing unity and patriotism.
