Biography:

Dr. Shashi Kant Sharma is working as Assistant Professor in Department of Electronics &
Communication Engineering at Indian Institute of Information Technology, Ranchi, India
(An Institute of National Importance Under MHRD, Govt. of India). He is in the Board of
Governors of IIIT Ranchi and is also serving as Associate Dean: Faculty Affairs,
Infrastructure and Campus Administration. In past, he has served on various positions
including: Faculty In-Charge: Academics, Faculty In-Charge: Student Affairs, Faculty In-
Charge: Establishment, Faculty In-Charge: Sensors & IoT Lab, Faculty Coordinator: UG
Admissions, Chairperson: PG and UG Programme Evaluation Committee, Member: Senate,
Building Works Committee, Institute Purchase Committee, Research Advisory Committee,
Patent Filing Committee and Infrastructure Committee at IIIT Ranchi. He holds a PhD from
Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur after obtaining a B.Tech with honours
from Rajasthan University and M.Tech from IIIT - Gwalior in 2009 and 2012 respectively.
He has also worked as Research Associate at University of Vienna, Austria.
Dr. Sharma has published more than 40 papers in many leading international journals, books
and international conferences. He also serves as reviewer in several peer reviewed journals
and conferences. He has awarded 2 Ph.Ds. Currently, he is guiding 03 Ph.D scholars and has
completed 2 sponsored research projects. He has also been instrumental in setting up
Semiconductor Device Fabrication Lab, Embedded Systems & IoT Lab and
Analog/Digital Electronics Lab at IIIT Ranchi and Manipal University Jaipur. His research
work is focused on structural, optical and electrical characterization of thin film based
optoelectonic devices such as: photodiodes, gas sensors, LEDs, nanogenerators, solar cells
etc. He is also involved in various other activities related to public speaking
and recent industrial trends.
