"A LRT talk on ‘IEEE system modelling with OpenDSS and its interoperability”
A LRT talk on ‘IEEE system modelling with OpenDSS and its interoperability’ was organized by IEEE PES SBC IIT Kanpur on 30th June 2023.
In this talk, the speaker has given the introduction, modeling, simulating IEEE systems, result analysis of different modes, and interface between OpenDSS and other software. OpenDSS is an open-source tool developed by EPRI with a focus on power distribution systems. The participants have learned the basics and simulated the IEEE system using OpenDSS. Further, they practiced sampled load flow in different modes (snapshot, daily). Along with this, the speaker also guided the participants about how to use the help of OpenDSS and how to interface Matlab and Python with OpenDSS.
The talk was very interactive for all the research enthusiasts. It will extremely help the researchers to perform different analyses like load-flow, fault analysis, and static and dynamic analysis on different systems.

Biography:
The speaker is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree with the Electrical Engineering Department, IIT Kanpur, Kanpur, India., His research interests include smart grid monitoring and control, power system fault analysis, and power system stability analysis. He has worked on different projects, from stabilize E, and smart city. He is working on the UIASSIST project.
