Mr Nkosana Mafico

Mr Mohammad Amanzadeh
IEEE membership benefits, networking and career development
Mohammad (Mo) Amanzadeh is an Electrical Engineer by degree and training with experience in research, development, project management, entrepreneurship, commercialisation and business development. He has a deep technical and market knowledge in photonics, optical fibre and fibre optic sensing. He is currently a Project Leader at CRCMining, and has been working on research and development of novel applications of fibre optic sensing for the mining industry since 2010. He has a Bachelor of Electronics and Electrical Engineering (IAU Tehran), Masters of Electrical Engineering and MPhil (Mining and Optical Engineering) from The University of Queensland. He has received various national and international awards for his academic performance and research, including a prestigious best student paper awards from Nature Photonics and Most Outstanding Student Paper award from Australian Mining technology conference for his role at fibre optic gas sensing project team at UQ CRCMining in 2012. He was also recognised as UQ’s Future Leaders of 2013, for his outstanding achievements in leadership, mentorship, research and academia. He is also currently Chair of Young Professionals Affinity Group at IEEE Queensland section for 2015.
