Topic:

Engineering the Future with Generative AI

Generative AI is a powerful technology that can create novel and realistic content across different modalities, such as images, video, music, speech, text, software code, and product designs. In this talk, you will learn about the fundamentals of generative AI and its applications in engineering design and development. You will discover how generative AI can enhance engineering processes such as product design by generating diverse and optimal solutions. You will also get familiar with some of the techniques and models that enable generative AI, such as foundation models, generative adversarial networks, and variational autoencoders. Moreover, you will explore some of the opportunities and challenges of generative AI for engineering innovation and collaboration, as well as some of the ethical and social issues that generative AI raises for engineering practice and society.
