IEEE MVSR Student Branch organized a training on Report Writing and vTools on 15thJuly 2023 for Chairpersons and Secretaries of Executive Committees of Main Student Branch, Affinity Group and Student Chapters of IEEE MVSR SB. The objective of this training was to illustrate how a report is composed and how it is uploaded in vTools and their importance. 

Mr. G. Sai Kumar, Chairperson of IEEE MVSR SB, initiated the session with a warm welcome to Dr. D Hari Krishna, IEEE MVSR Student Branch Counsellor, Mr. Hemanth Kollapudi, former Chairperson of IEEE MVSR SB, as well as Mr. Naga Seshu, former Vice Chairperson of IEEE MVSR SB along with all the current Chairs and Secretaries of IEEE MVSR Student branch, its affinity group, and chapters. Following the introduction, he graciously invited Dr. Hari Krishna to deliver his address to the attendees.

Mr. Hemanth Kollapudi congratulated the new Executive Committee members and wished them luck for the future. He discussed the importance of reports, their contents, and the process of verification. He urged the secretaries to draft error-free reports within 2-3 days. Additionally, he emphasized the significance of vTools and the responsibility of secretariesand the Chair in uploading event reports with utmost care.

During the session, Mr. Hemanth Kollapudi explained the format to be followed for reports, including details to be mentioned, text alignment, and the hierarchy of addressing people. He advised using "Times New Roman" font with size 12 for paragraphs and size 14 for headings in bold. He shared sample reports as examples.Furthermore, he presented the letter format that the Chairs of the Executive Committee need to draft to acquire permission for organizing events. Subsequently, the session was handed over to Mr. Naga Seshu.

Mr. Naga Seshu commenced the session by providing an explanation of vTools. He guided the Secretaries on how to navigate to the vTools website and highlighted the various resources it offers. Moving forward, he explained the three main sections of vTools: VTools Officer Reporting, vTools Events, and vTools Student Branch Reporting.

During the discussion on vTools Events, Mr. Naga Seshu focused on the process of filing a report for past events. He explained the importance of carefully filling out all the required fields and emphasized the need for precise content. To demonstrate the process, he uploaded a sample report. Furthermore, Mr. Hemanth Kollapudi showcased how to add images and rectify any errors during the upload.It was made clear that the responsibility for vTools reporting lies with the Secretaries of the Student Branch executive committee.

 During the session, attendees had the opportunity to raise their queries, and both Mr. Hemanth Kollapudi and Mr. Naga Seshu addressed and cleared these queries. Mr. Sai Kumar, Chair of IEEE MVSR Student Branch, then proposed a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the trainers and all the participants, marking the conclusion of the training session.

Mr. K. Naga Seshu was the Vice Chairperson of IEEE MVSR Student Branch. He also held the position of Secretary of PES, IEEE MVSR Student Branch from year 2021-2022.
