INAUGURAL FUNCTION OF IEEE SENSORS COUNCIL STUDENT BRANCH CHAPTER
In today’s world for anyone to get succeed in life not only technical knowledge but also co-curricular activities are also most essential. In view of this, our college has started IEEE student branch in the college premises. Our collegehas got approval on 20th June 2014 to start IEEE Student Branch (STB). At present our STB is having 286 IEEE student members. The inaugural function ofsensors council was held on 16th February 2023. For inaugural function, Dr.Amith Kumar, Chairman of IEEE R10 Section Chapter Committee wasinvited as Chief guest, Dr.Y.Vijaya Latha, SAC Advisor IEEE Hyderabad section was invited as Guest of Honour, Dr. Sudharshan Jayabalan, RAS Chair, IEEE Hyderabad Section, Sri Sai kumar Tara , SAC Coordinator IEEE Hyderabad Section was invited as special invitee speaker. Dr. Y.V. Siva Reddy, Chair, IEEE Ananthapuramu Subsection, Dr. S.Nagaraja Rao, Head of the Electronics and Communication Engineering department were also invited to the inaugural function. The program started with a prayer song by C. Lahari and K. Nimisha at 10AM. The chief guest and the Guest of Honour were introduced by B. Gayathriand S.J.Nishath , vice chair and secretary of sensors council respectively. Later, the IEEE council was inaugurated by the chief Guest and the Guest of Honour. The student chair of Sensor council gave the inaugural report which depicted theSensors Council chapter activities for the academic year 2022-2023. The Principal incharge, Dr.S. Nagaraja Rao, Head of the Electronics and Communication Engineering department and the invited guests addressed the gathering and gave their valuable suggestions that strengthening the student activities. The chief guest gave his suggestion that the student branch should alsoconduct projects under IEEE and the guest of honour gave her suggestion that thestudent retention in IEEE should increase. At the end the head of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering department, Dr.K.Sri Gowri presented the mementosto the guests.
Dr. Amith Kumar and Dr. Y. Vijaya Latha enriched the students aboutthe values and benefits of IEEE and its memberships in various societies. They advised the students to be a part of IEEE and excel technically and have a bright future.
