Technical Talk on RF and Microwave Engineering.
On 17th August 2023, a session was conducted virtually on "Why RF and Microwave Engineering?" from 4:00 p.m. (IST) to 5:00 p.m. (IST). The event was hosted by the IEEE DIBRUGARH UNIVERSITY STUDENT BRANCH. Mr Mrinal Kanti Mandal, assistant professor of dept E & ECE, IIT Kharagpur and The chair of IEEE IIT Kharagpur section. It was attended by all the members of the IEEE DIBRUGARH UNIVERSITY STUDENTS BRANCH, students from DIBRUGARH UNIVERSITY and students from various other institutions as well. The speaker first gave an introduction about Why microwave engineering? The various aspects that are being done at IIT Kharagpur are based on microwave engineering. He gave a glimpse into the application of microwave frequencies, microwave and millimetre-wave systems: Doppler and imaging radars, six-port networks, and microwave measurements. He also mentioned the aspects which the microwave system includes: antenna and arrays, RF beamforming, Passive components, Baseband, control and synchronisation, RFIC, Power amplifier, Electronically tunable components, Different forms of guiding structures, PCB, and MIC.
The session was amazingly interactive and the participants had the opportunity to ask a question in a live Q&A session which was addressed by the speaker and the session ended successfully
