ORPHANAGE REACH OUT MISSION
On the occasion of India's 77th Independence Day, IEEE MVSR Student Branch undertook a charitable mission to visit the Safe Charitable Foundation, B.N Reddy, Hyderabad, which is an orphanage home to approximately 30 girls. This independent, non-profit organization is part of Helping Hands and aims to provide a safe haven for these girls. The mission's goal was to extend support to the foundation's efforts and engage in meaningful interaction with the children.
Recognizing its societal responsibility, IEEE MVSR SB initiated this visit to offer assistance and companionship to the orphanage residents. The event, named the "Orphanage Reach Out Mission" was arranged with the guidance of Dr. D Hari Krishna, IEEE MVSR Student Branch Counsellor to visit the Safe Charitable Foundation, an orphanage home which is located at B. N. Reddy, Hyderabad. The event involved active participation from Mr. Gaddam Sai Kumar, Chairperson of IEEE MVSR SB and Mr. R. Siddartha Reddy, Volunteer of IEEE MVSR SB who volunteered their time.
The volunteers, led by Dr. Hari Krishna, were warmly welcomed by Mr. Prasad and the young girls residing in the orphanage. Mr. Prasad provided insights into the girls' daily lives, the support they receive, and their current challenges. The girls then introduced themselves an showcased their creative endeavors, fostering an enthusiastic and interactive atmosphere.
During the event, Mr. G. Sai Kumar, Chairperson, addressed the gathering, highlighting the purpose of IEEE MVSR SB's visit. He emphasized that the IEEE SB MVSR is consistently engaged in impactful social initiatives such as the Orphanage Reach Out Mission, clothing donation drives, and blanket donation drives.
The Student Branch’s contribution facilitated the acquisition of essential items for the orphanage. These included a bag of rice, pulses, wheat flour, nutritious groundnuts, premium cooking oil, basic toiletries, stationary, chocolates and sweets.
The culmination of the visit was marked by a heartfelt farewell. The girls sang a farewell song as a gesture of appreciation, bidding adieu to the volunteer team. Throughout the visit, the volunteers formed connections with the children, bringing joy and happiness to their day.
