James Wades WB8SIW
Biography:
James Wades is one of the founders of RRI and presently is the Chair of its Board. He also serves as RRI's Emergency Management Director. Jim has been active in various amateur radio activities, having served as an Oakland County (Michigan) Emergency Coordinator, Section Traffic Manager, and Section Emergency Coordinator/State R.A.C.E.S Officer. He served as General Manager of the Michigan Net, QMN, for several years. He has significant experience in dealing with a variety of issues related to port security, counterterrorism, hazardous materials response, bio-terrorism, and school violence planning and response. He also has a 25-year association with the National Weather Service. Additionally, he works in the development of train control and life-critical (vital) railroad signal and communications systems. He also has worked on various motion picture projects including Spielberg's "Lincoln," "The Polar Express," and Disney's "Lone Ranger" in the area of set design and set dressing.
Steve Hansen KB1TCE
Biography:
Steve Hansen is the Affiliated Programs Manager for RRI. He is a member of the ARES/RACES teams in Maine. One of his accomplishments at RRI is establishing a relationship between the Winlink System and RRI via the Winlink Express “Radiogram Text Creator” template and the Winlink-RRI Liaison network. Now retired, Steve worked in the Semiconductor industry as a development engineer and then product manager. He has an interest in Vacuum Technology professionally, which led him to guide the implementation of vacuum technology programs at 2 and 4-year colleges worldwide, as well as writing a monthly column for Vacuum Technology & Coating magazine. He continues to be active in a variety of activities, including a local Neighborhood HamWatch effort, SHARES Auxiliary, and HF Alerting Group (Co-Chair).
OPEN MEETING -- All who are interested, licensed or not, please join us in our regular monthly meeting of the IEEE MOVE Radio Club (IMRC). We normally meet by WebEx, on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, 8-10 pm Eastern time zone. The meeting is open to all. There is no admission fee and the rewards are manyfold.
