Optimal Power Flow (OPF) in Julia
Learn how to formulate and solve hands-on practice the most utilized power systems calculation using the versatile Julia language.
Please, find below the steps you need to complete before the workshop.
If you want to follow and run the exercises on your computer during the workshop, make sure you have Julia and an IDE working properly on your computer. You can follow these steps to set up your environment:

- Install Visual Studio Code (find the installation guide here)
- Install Julia extension in Visual Studio Code (find the installation guide here)
Additionally, after installing Julia, you may also want to install the following Julia packages before the workshop:
- jl – Mathematical optimization modeling package
- jl – Steady-state power system optimization package
- jl – Ipopt solver package
- jl – Pluto notebook package
- Use Pluto version 0.18.0 by running ]add Pluto @0.18.0 in your Julia REPL
