Session Title: Electrical Equipment Risk Assessment in the context of CSA Z463 Standard for the Maintenance of Electrical Systems
You are cordially invited to join the IEEE Hamilton Section in hosting a technical session on Electrical Equipment Risk Assessment standard CSA Z463 standard on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at 6:00 PM at Glen Abbey Community Center, Oakville.
Session Description:
In the beginning of our session on Electrical Equipment Risk Assessment in the context of CSA
Z463 Standard, our focus will be on understanding the relationship between the Trilogy of the
CSA Z460 series. We will explore the key references that influenced the development of CSA
Z463 standard and the reasons behind the requirement for risk assessment in Z463 to mitigate
electrical equipment risks.
Additionally, an overview of the clauses included in the Z463 standard will be provided and a
framework that can be used to meet the requirements for electrical equipment risk assessment
will be presented. Furthermore, the application of risk assessment principles will be
demonstrated by presenting a case study that utilized a risk management platform.
To wrap up the session, participants will engage in a hands-on exercise that focuses on
conducting risk assessment of electrical equipment. The purpose of this exercise is to assist
participants in applying risk assessment techniques to electrical equipment used in their
operations.
