Biography:

Akila Wijethunge is currently a lecturer at the Faculty of Technology, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka. Akila currently serves as an Executive Committee Member of IEEE Region 10 (Asia Pacific) and Chair-Elect of IEEE Power and Energy Society Sri Lanka. IEEE She is the past chair of both IEEE Women In Engineering Sri Lanka and IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka. She served as an Executive Committee member of IEEE Women in Engineering Region 10 (Asia Pacific). She completed her Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and her research interests include Power Systems, Smart Grid Applications, and specifically Dynamic Line Rating.

Biography:

Ashan Imantha M.H. Bandara has been an active volunteer in the IEEE network for more than ten years. He is the Affinity Group coordinator for the Oceania Region in the IEEE Region 10 Young Professional Affinity Group. He joined IEEE PES as a graduate student and continuously served as a committee member. In 2020, he was appointed the industrial coordinator of the IEEE YP Sri Lanka chapter. He was one of the founding chairs of the New Initiative of IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka, IEEE Y2NPro. Later, he was elevated to the Treasurer of IEEE YP and established a comprehensive finance policy framework for IEEE YP SL. He has completed his Bachelor of Science in Engineering and also his Master of Philosophy, both in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, at the University of Peradeniya. Currently, he is reading for PhD at the University of Queensland, Australia.
