Presented jointly by IEEE and the New Jersey Innovation institute in collaboration with the Procurement Technical Assistance Center at NJIT

The IEEE North Jersey Section is holding its second session on "How to Secure Contracts with the United States Government". The talk will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the main branch of the Clifton library, which is located at 292 Piaget Avenue, in Clifton. The topic will be "Doing Business with the Government". The talk, described below, is designed for individuals, consultants, and small businesses. There is no charge to attend this and the next lecture. The NJIT Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) provides contractual and technical assistance to small, established New Jersey businesses interested in marketing their products and services to federal, state and local government agencies. The center operates under a cost sharing cooperative agreement between the Department of Defense and the New Jersey Institute of Technology. This event is being co-hosted with New Jersey Innovation Institute as part of the NJ MarketShiftprogram.

PTAC provides assistance in the following areas:

· Market Research (Fedbizopps.gov)

· Identifying Product or Service Codes (PSC/FSC)

· Registering on all appropriate web sites (SAM)

· Matching a firm's product or service with what's purchased by the federal government

· Review of solicitations

· Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARS, DFARS)

· Certification / Verification assistance
