The Malaysian palm oil industry has traditionally lagged in harnessing technology to enhance productivity, not only within its plantations but also across various other segments of its value chain. However, the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic magnifies the inefficiencies, thereby compelling a reevaluation of technological integration across the industry's value chain. One particularly promising avenue involves the deployment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) in field operations. This presentation will shed light on some aspects of the synergistic utilization of AI and UAVs, emphasizing their profound and transformative influence on productivity within the Malaysian palm oil sector.
