  1. Webinar

The student branch has organized a webinar with the support of Dr Bandar Alfaifi, Head of Department of Electrical Engineering. Professor Asif Ali Tahir, PhD, University of Exeter, Environment and Sustainability Institute will be giving the webinar titled Nanomaterials Design for Solar Energy Conversion and Built Environment Applications, scheduled for 0800pm KSA time (GMT Summer + 2) on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. The poster to this effect will be circulated inviting students and faculty to attend.

 

  1. Workshop for EXIT exams

The student branch will be organizing an Exit Exam workshop inviting a senior member/official of the Saudi Council of Engineers as facilitator at https://www.saudieng.sa/English/AboutSCE/Pages/BoardOfDirectors.aspx?SessionId=8

Meanwhile Dr Noor Maricar and Sheroz Khan spoke with Engr Ibrahim Nasar from the IEEE Western Section Saudi Arabia at +966 53 280 1913, asking him to help to arrange an SCE Engineer if the talk would be a webinar or seminar. Dr Bedir Yousif, the manager of the department of Electrical engineering elaborated the importance of the EXIT Exam.

 

  1. Paper writing for Region-8 participation

Prof Sheroz Khan explained that he would be the attending the Senior Design Project (SDP) presentation planned for 17-10-2023, and would be in consultation with the supervisor how to convert their students’ project into a student paper for participation in the Region-8 conference. Dr. Saleh Alyaha further elaborated that there would be prizes for the outstanding senior design projects by student of Onaizah College of Engineering and Information technology. He also emphasized that next meeting would be invited to STB64633 EXCOM meeting HoDs f the CS and AI departments
