Biography:

Sakura completed a Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering (Honours) at Macquarie University, with First Class Honours in 2021. Sakura has 3+ years’ experience working in the rail electrification sector at Arcadis and is currently the lead overhead wiring designer for the detailed design of the Thornlie-Cockburn Link in Perth. She has a strong passion for smart sensing, actuation, and control systems applicable to the railway. Sakura has worked on a wide range of large national railway projects the design of overhead line electrification systems for both 1500 V DC and 25kV AC around Australia. Outside of her technical role, Sakura leads the NSW young professional group of Arcadis developing a range of events and initiatives for young professionals, STEM outreach work, development forums, networking, site visits and technical talks.
