Translating Science to Policy: Environmental Sustainability Perspective
IEEE MTT-S SBC IIT Kanpur celebrated IEEE day on 7th October 2023. Given that the IEEE President has made Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability a mission, The speaker chose to give a talk on a similar topic. The talk covered the role of research students in policy making.The speaker used case studies to illustrate her points.

Dr. Sulekha Chattopadhyay
Translating Science to Policy: Environmental Sustainability Perspective
Biography:
Dr. Sulekha Chattopadhyay, PhD, is a Zero Emission Transportation Engineer at California Air Resources Board(CARB). She obtained her PhD degree in Environmental Science from the University of California, Riverside, in 2004. She received her master's degree in physics from Savitribai Phule Pune University, India. Before CARB, she worked as a Senior Regulatory Analyst at the California Public Utilities Commission and as an Air Pollution Specialist at CARB. She is a recipient of the Fulbright Specialist program of the U.S. Department of State. She has also received the Guru Gobind Singh Fellowship and the University of California-Riverside Dean's Fellowship during her Ph.D. She had been a Real World Emissions Group -Coordinating Research Council member. Currently, she is a senior member of the IEEE.
