The IEEE Recommended Practice and Requirements for Harmonic Control in Electric Power Systems IEEE 519-1992 was updated to IEEE 519-2014 in an effort to simplify the document and clarify several topics. This includes but is not limited to changes in the definition of the PCC (point of common coupling) as well as changes to how harmonics are measured and related calculations. The presentation will focus on the major differences between the versions as well as a discussion regarding harmonic mitigation with variable frequency drives.
