 In this presentation, we will explore how supervised learning can be used for identifying the root cause of performance degradations observed in optical networks.

 

Biography:

Christine Tremblay is a specialist in optical communications with experience in the private sector (INO, EXFO, Nortel, Roctest) and academia. Founder and Head of the Network Technology Lab. She is currently Full Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering and Associate Director for the Ph.D. Program at the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS). 

Her team pioneered the research on filterless optical networking, a disruptive network architecture alternative demonstrated and deployed on national and regional networks. Current research interests include machine learning for optical communications, network monitoring and sensing, as well as Advanced Optical Networking for multicloud, multi-access, multi-core, and quantum applications.

Senior Member of IEEE, she has been the co-instructor for SC314 and SC210 hands-on courses on optical fiber and polarization measurements and served as Technical Program Committee Member at the Optical Fiber Communication (OFC) Conference for several years.
