Artificial Intelligence: Current Progress and Future Prospects?
Dr Simon Denman is a researcher at QUT's school of Electrical Engineering and Robotics. His special areas of research are computer vision and machine learning. He has published over 140 papers in these areas.
Artificial Intelligence, "AI", has become one of the most talked about topics in the media. Much of the public commentary is speculative and not well informed. This talk seeks to give reliable information from a current researcher in the AI field. Topics include:
1) Introduction and brief history;
2) State of the art, and current methods;
3) Key applications;
4) Future challenges and emerging research areas.
