Introduction


The IEEE PES SBC CEA in collaboration with the IEEE PES Kerala Chapter, organized the 'IEEE DAY PES QUIZ' as a part of IEEE DAY Celebrations 2023. The competition was conducted for the first-year students focusing to improve their knowledge.

 

Brief Description


The celebration of IEEE DAY was conducted from 12:30 to 1:30 P.M. The quiz competition was conducted from 12:30 to 12:45 p.m. The competition was conducted for all the first-year students in the college. At 12:30 P.M, all the volunteers for the quiz competition were present in the first-year classrooms and they distributed the question papers to all the participants. Almost all of the first-year students were participants in this competition. There were volunteers allotted to each classroom for monitoring and managing the event. At 12:45 pm, the answer sheets were collected from the students in each classroom.. After the quiz the volunteers also promoted the students to actively participate in the IEEE Day Celebration Activities held by the Student Branch. The answer sheets were also checked by the volunteers with reference to the answer key provided.

 

Around 207 students participated in this competition. A team of three students who secured the highest scores will be made and they will be sent to attend the subsequent stages of the quiz competition. As the prize of the event, the winners will be fully funded to attend the subsequent stages of the competition. This will also incentivize all the students to participate in IEEE events and also to learn more about IEEE. Thus the event was very successful in achieving the aim of IEEE Day. This event immensely helped the first year students to gain more knowledge about IEEE and IEEE PES.

 

As a result of the event the students were very excited to participate in the future events and were eager to learn more about IEEE.
