Naznin Akter received her Ph.D. (2022) and MS (2020) degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Department of ECE at Florida International University (FIU), where she worked at INSYST Integrated Nanosystems Research Lab. Her Ph.D. research focused on developing high-responsivity, tunable, compact, and room-temperature operational Terahertz detectors and emitters using novel materials (graphene, p-diamond). She also worked on Terahertz IC testing with deep learning to ensure hardware-based cybersecurity. After receiving her Ph.D., she worked as a Yield Analysis (YA) engineer for Micron Technology, Inc. for about two months. She is currently working as a TD Module and Integration Yield Engineer for Intel Corporation. She holds a Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI). She received her B.Sc. (Hons.) (2012) and MS (2014) in Applied Physics, Electronics, and Communication Engineering from the University of Dhaka in Bangladesh before coming to FIU. She worked in two distinct corporate telecom companies in Bangladesh for 3.5 years after her graduation. She is currently holding several leadership positions in IEEE. She is the Deputy Editor for the IEEE Photonics Society online newsroom. She is the Chair of IEEE Photonics Society Oregon Section chapter, Chair of IEEE Women-in-Engineering Oregon section AG, and Vice- Chair of the IEEE Young Professional Oregon section AG. She is the MGA member of IEEE Climate Change Program (CCIRCC) OU activity Subcommittee, R6 Experience specialist for IEEE YP Mentoring-Meet, ExCom member of R6 IEEE Young Professional, Secretary of IEEE PES YP US and Canada Regional Team, and 2023 IEEE Day Ambassador for IEEE R6. Apart from IEEE, she is the assistant VP of Marketing Communications at Project Management Institute Portland Chapter.
