IEEE/OSA Montréal Networking Event & Poster Competition

The IEEE Photonics Society Montréal Chapter and Optical Society of America McGill Chapter are delighted to invite you to the IEEE/OSA Montréal Networking Event & Poster Competition to celebrate the International Year of Light, 50th anniversary of IEEE Photonics Society and 100th anniversary of Optical Society of America. This event features speakers from academia and industry, who will talk about the history and advancement of light science in general and some widely explored fields, followed by a student poster competition. Posters will be assessed by qualified judges and prizes will be awarded to winners. All participants will receive souvenirs.

This event aims to achieve stronger tights among the optics & photonics community in the great Montréal area the Québec province. Through talks from invited speakers and poster session with hors-d’oeuvre, this event will be an excellent opportunity for researchers and students from all around Montréal to network and improve mutual understanding of their respective research, as well as collaboration.

All topics related to optics & photonics are accepted. Participants are allowed to recycle their posters from previous conferences given in the last year or so. New posters are encouraged to print on matte material, and will be reimbursed up to $25. Maximum poster size is 45”×45”. Please submit a short abstract (maximum 35 words) before the deadline. Abstracts will be reviewed by the organizing committee and confirmations will be sent out within 3 days after the deadline.

3:30 PM - 4:15 PM: Second plenary session

4:20 PM - 5:00 PM: Entrepreneurship

5:00 PM - 5:30 PM: Poster session (30 posters maximum) with catering

5:30 PM: announcement of poster competition winners and closing speech.
