IEEE VTS Philadelphia Chapter Meeting


The IEEE Vehicular Technology Society (VTS) Philadelphia Chapter is holding a technical meeting.  The topic is DC Traction Power Systems - Advanced Design Concepts.  Our speakers are Mark Curry and Tony Janin, Traction Power Systems Leads, Sécheron SA, North American Market

This presentation discusses the different elements, applicable standards, and common industry trends used in dc and traction power applications. The objective of this presentation is to provide designers and specifiers with technical knowledge in DC applications used in traction applications and provide detailed insight into new product concepts used throughout the world.

Mark Curry has over 30 years of transit experience on the systems delivery side in the areas of Traction Power, Control Centers and Systems, Systems Integration, SCADA, and Communications. Currently Mark Curry is the Director of Sales at Sécheron Hasler USA. Mark Curry is the Chair of the IEEE Smart Substation Work Group.

Biography:

Tony Janin has over 14 years of DC traction experience in the areas of Product Development, Application Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, and Sales Executive. Mr. Janin has led multiple projects for Sécheron from conception to completion. Currently Tony Janin is Area Sales Manager at Sécheron SA for the North American market for both Railway and Industrial applications. Mr. Janin’s area of knowledge includes Sécheron’s, Switchgear, Power Conversion, Rectifiers, Power Control and Monitoring Systems.
