Dear all,

We kindly invite you to attend the an invited technical talk orgaized by IEEE OES NL Chapter for 2023, the talk information:

The title of the talk:

Physical Layer Authentication without Adversary Training Data in Underwater Acoustic Networks

Abstract:

In this talk, the research on physical layer authentication for underwater acoustic networks will be introduced. Underwater acoustic networks (UANs) have provided significant support for marine applications. Due to the complexity of marine environment and broadcast channels, UANs encounter huge security threats. Physical layer authentication (PLA) schemes exploit natural properties of channels, which are incredibly difficult to imitate. However, capturing a specific channel statistical model from adversaries is quite challenging due to unknown attacker positions, unpredictable opponent behaviors, and harsh marine environment. In this talk, physical layer authentication without adversary training data in underwater acoustic networks will be in presented. Extensive simulation results and analysis based on sea trial CIR data will be shown.

Presenter:

Dr. Ruiqin Zhao (Northwestern Polytechnical University (China))

Short bio:

Dr. Zhao is an Associate Professor at School of Marine Science and Technology, Northwestern Polytechnical University, China. She is also a Senior Researcher with the Key Laboratory of Ocean Acoustics and Sensing, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China. She was a Visiting Professor with Memorial University, Canada. Her research interests include underwater acoustic networks and wireless networks, with a focus on cross-layer design, medium access control protocols, routing protocols, and network security.
