The topic of discussion is A Potpourri of ECE – Deep Learning, Custom Computers, Solar Power at TCNJ, and Electric Cars. Dr. Pearlstein will present a sampling of topics of interest to him that he hopes many of you will find interesting as well. He will describe his most recent work in deep learning, which has been conducted along with Dr. Alabsi (Mech. Eng.) and involves the application of deep learning to the problem of machine fault diagnosis. He will also describe his deep learning applications in computer vision. After, Dr. Pearlstein will switch gears to describe work on custom architectures for application-specific computing. The talk will conclude with a brief overview of solar power at TCNJ, and some thoughts on electric vehicles.
