Biography:

Professor KWONG Sam Tak Wu is the Chair Professor ofComputational Intelligence, and concurrently asAssociate Vice-President (Strategic Research) of LingnanUniversity. Professor Kwong is a distinguished scholar inevolutionary computation, artificial intelligence (Al)solutions, and image/video processing, with a strongrecord of scientific innovations and real-world impacts.He is currently Chair Professor of Computer Science atLingnan University, Hong Kong. Professor Kwong waslisted as one of the top 2% of the world’ s most citedscientists, according to the Stanford University report. Hewas listed as one of the top 1% of the world’ s mostcited scientists by Clarivate in 2022. He has also beenactively engaged in nowledge transfer betweenacademia and industry. He was elevated to IEEE Fellow in2014 for his contributions to optimization techniques incybernetics and video coding. He was a Fellow of the Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association (AAIA) in 2022and the President of the IEEE Systems, Man, andCybernetics Society (SMCS) in 2021-23. Professor Kwonghas a prolific publication record with over 350 journalarticles and 160 conference papers with an h-index of 76based on Google Scholar. He is currently the associateeditor of a number of leading IEEE transaction journals.
