3rd IEEE Applied Signal Processing Conference, 2023
IEEE Signal Processing Society and Electrical Engineering Department, HIT (Haldia Institute of Technology) organized the 3rd IEEE Applied Signal Processing Conference, 2023 from 24th November 2023 to 25th November 2023 at Haldia Institute of Technology, Haldia. More than 350 participants attended this conference which included research scholars, faculty and scientists from different colleges/universities from India and abroad along with delegates from renowned industries.
The first day of the conference started with registration of the participants and the first technical session was held before everyone broke for lunch. The inauguration session, attended by an audience of about four hundred commenced after lunch. The event was adorned by Prof. (Dr.) Subrata Mondal, Principal, Haldia Institute of Technology, Prof. (Dr.) Sovan Dalai, Chairman, IEEE SPS Kolkata Section, Prof. (Dr.) Debangshu Dey, General Chair, ASPCON 2023, Prof. (Dr.) Tarun Kumar Jana, Dean, School of Engineering, Haldia Institute of technology, Dr. Susanta Ray, Organizing Chair, ASPCON 2023, Mr. Susovan Patra, General Manager, Haldia Energy Limited, Prof.(Dr.) Dilip Dey, Head of the Department, Electrical Engineering, and General Co-Chair, ASPCON 2023 and Prof.(Dr.) Palash Pal, Organizing Co-chair, ASPCON 2023. The event started with the introduction of dignitaries followed by he National Anthem, after which the auspicious ceremony of lighting the lamp was conducted. The students of the institution performed the melodious song of ‘Aloker ei Jhornadhara’ to conclude the ceremony. The opening speech was then delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Dilip Dey which was followed by the speeches of other dignitaries. The vote of thanks was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Palash Pal. Then an illustrious and knowledgeable keynote speech was delivered by the Guest of Honor Mr. Susovan Patra, General Manager, Haldia Energy Limited. The inauguration session was followed by a high tea session where refreshments were provided to all the participants.
More technical sessions followed the inaugural session and the keynote lecture. There were 9 technical sessions in the two-day conference, some of which were scheduled concurrently. The domain of the sessions was decided by grouping similar papers together from the broad domain of the conference itself. Each session had a chair and co-chair, who were experts in the domain. Each author was given 10 minutes for the presentation of their work after which the question answer session was held for 5 minutes. The sessions were structured to foster interaction between the participants and the delegates. Each of the session chairs were presented with a moment and a certificate of appreciation as a token of thanks for providing their valuable time and expertise in making the conference a success.
The two-day conference was drawn to a conclusion with a valedictory session. The welcome speech of the session was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Sovan Dalai, Chairman of IEEE SPS Kolkata Section. A few delegates gave feedback on the conference and the session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Prof. (Dr.) Dilip Dey, Head of the department of Electrical Engineering, Haldia Institute of Technology
