Sahyadri hosted the IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing, VLSI, Electrical Circuits and Robotics (2023 IEEE DISCOVER) on 13th and 14th October 2023 organized by IEEE Mangalore Subsection.
The inauguration was held at 10.00 am on 13th October 2023 in the presence of Chief Guest Dr. Gopal Mugeraya, Vice President (Technical Education), Nitte (DU) & Former Director, NIT Agartala & NIT Goa, and the Guest of Honour Dr. Abishek Vaish, Assistant Professor at IIIT Allahabad.

The event began with the welcome address by Dr. Mustafa Basthikodi, Organizing Chair-2023 IEEE DISCOVER & Head, Dept. of CSE. Dr. Rajesha S, Principal, extended the introductory remarks and motivated the participants to align themselves to research and contribute to society.
Dr. Mohit P Tahiliani, NITK Surathkal & General Chair-2023 IEEE DISCOVER gave the introductory remarks with an overview of the conference and briefed how the IEEE DISCOVER evolved from 2015 in Mangalore MSS.

Keynote Speech-1: Importance of Transdisciplinary Research
The inauguration was followed by the Keynote Speech by Dr. Varadaraj Prabhu Gurupur from University of Central Florida. He is currently serving as the chair of the IEEE Orlando section since 2021. “Transdisciplinary research has led to paradigm shifts in the human society and has changed the way we live our lives”, he said. He emphasized on the need for the transdisciplinary using critical examples and its relation to the theory of chaos. His cases included telemedicine, the big data revolution and Telesurgery.
This was followed by Paper Presentation by researchers and scholars from Pan India. This was held in different sessions under various tracks.
Session-1: Track: Distributed Computing
The session was chaired by Dr. Sridevi Saralaya, SJEC and Dr. Nagesh H R and moderated by Mr. Vasudeva Rao. In this session 4 papers were presented related to cutting edge technologies of Machine Learning and block chain domains. Presenters shared insightful information on how Block Chain Technologies helps in food and agriculture supply chain management.
Session-2: Track: Healthcare
The session was chaired by Dr. Sathyanarayana V, JNNCE and Dr. Pushpalatha K and moderated by Prof. Madhura N Hegde. In this session, 3 papers were presented related to various technological applications in healthcare sector. Scholars gave knowledgeable information on how Machine learning technology helps in health sector to classify and predict diseases.

Session-3: Track: Communications
The session was chaired by Dr. Yashwanth N, MIT and Dr. Venugopala P S, NMAMIT and moderated by Prof. Roopashree. In this session, 7 papers were presented related to various technological aspects of IoT and Sensor Communication.
Session-4: Track: VLSI
The session was chaired by Dr. Prashant Kumar Shetty, MIT and Dr. Madhushankara Bhat, MIT and moderated by Dr. Nisha. In this session, 7 papers were presented on topics like VLSI Implementation of Hybrid Analog to Digital Converter, Neural Amplifier.
Session-5: Track: Robotics
The session was chaired by Dr. Vasudeva Acharya, NMAMIT and Dr. Ashwini B, NMAMIT and moderated by Dr. Shankara Murthy. In this session, 8 papers were presented related to various technological aspects of Autonomous Navigation in AGVS, ROBOTIC ARM.
Technical Panel Discussion: Shaping the Future with AI: Insights from Industry Innovators

The panel discussion was held on “Shaping the Future with AI: Insights from Industry Innovators”. The panelists were Mr. Sankarasubbu Arunachalam, Senior Principal Architect, Infosys; Mr. Prashanth Shenoy, Co-founder, Unicourt; Dr. U C Niranjan, Former Director, MDN Labs and Ms. Saumys S, Principal Technology Architect, Infosys. This was moderated by Mr. Johnson Tellis, Trustee and CEO of Sahyadri and Co-founder, InUnity. The panel members presented their thoughts and findings on role of artificial intelligence in day today life in various sectors. Further they shared their useful insights about the skillsets needed for researchers and students to get in to the world with AI. They also spoke about the role of open source softwares in building AI Applications.
