Tour to Poudre Valley REA Substation-April 28th 3:00-5:00P M
PVREA line workers will be demonstrating a high voltage power line at the office located at 7649 REA Parkway, Fort Collins, CO 80528. In this demonstration, participants will be able to become more familiar with equipment that you may see on an overhead distribution line as well as why some outages may occur. They will also be demonstrating the dangers associated with the 12kV power line. After the demonstrations, we will travel 15-20 minutes to a substation owned by PVREA, in which we will get a tour of the facilities and gain knowledge of what all is in a substation.
The high voltage power line demonstration will occur at PVREA, then we will need to travel to a substation to do a tour.
FR shirts, hard hats and safety glasses will be supplied for the substation tour, if anyone has their own PPE, bringing it may be helpful.
