SheTech 2024 - IEEE member volunteer activity

The IEEE Boise Section is pleased to be a sponsor of SheTech for 2024. SheTech Explorer Day is a FREE, one-day career discovery day for high school students. SheTech will be held on January 30th, 2024 at the College of Idaho. 

We need your help! Volunteers are needed throughout the day from 7am-2:30pm. This includes supporting:

  • Set-up/tear-down (7am-8am)
  • Check-in & registration (8am-9am)
  • TechChallenge group mentor (design thinking group challenge) (8am-10:30am)
  • Wayfinding (assisting students to locate workshops) (10am-2pm)
  • Traffic Control (lunch, auditorium, TechZone) (10am-2pm)
  • Tear-down/Clean-up (1:30pm-2:30pm)

Even if you can just help out for a couple hours, that would be great. You don't need to commit for the whole event.

About the event:

SheTech is organized and run by Women Innovators (W.IN) (https://women-innovators.org/) .  Women Innovators (W.IN) is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit based in Boise, Idaho.  With the mission to make Idaho the place for women and girl innovators to succeed, W.IN is uniting the collective community toward bold change in advancing women and girls in STEaM, and elevating women to academic and professional excellence for positive economic impact.

This event offers students the opportunity to:

  • Explore STEM careers in hands-on workshops taught by STEM role models
  • Get innovative with a real-world STEM problem solving challenge – including prizes!
  • Learn how to find, fund, and thrive in the right post-secondary educational opportunity
  • Meet dozens of real people and organizations working in STEM
