Distributed Wireless Coexistence and Immunity Hardenin

Distributed wireless base stations are becoming more prevalent as their physical size shrinks and their computing and control functions substantially increase. Distributed wireless base stations operating at the same or different bands will be installed in close proximity. These devices must have the ability to function as intended in the presence of radio noise that is radiated both intentionally and unintentionally from adjacently installed devices. The small in-band electrical noise levels could be a source of interference, and any large signal could completely disrupt their functions. Problems due to coexistence, co-channel interference, and beam forming in a distributed system are emerging research challenges. The manufacturers, service providers, standards organizations, and regulatory bodies have an important role in resolving these radio interference issues. This presentation focuses on the required design techniques for distributed wireless base station immunity hardening, in-band interference controls and complexity in modeling the modern wireless installations.
