Workshop Summary: In this workshop titled "Natural Image Processing with Python," we will delve into the captivating domain of image processing, tracing its journey from ancient techniques to its modern-day significance. We'll spotlight Python's pivotal role in this field, emphasising some of the powerful libraries such as OpenCV, PIL/Pillow, and scikit-image. Both foundational and selected advanced image processing techniques will be showcased, complemented by hands-on Python code snippet demonstrations. We will wrap up the presentation by exploring real-world applications, addressing current challenges, and discussing the promising future of image processing.

 

Short Bio: Dr. MD Moniruzzaman is a Research Fellow at Curtin Medical School and an Adjunct Lecturer at the School of Science, Edith Cowan University (ECU). He finished his PhD from the School of Engineering at ECU, his master’s in computer science from the School of Science at ECU, and his Bachelor's in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Khulna University of Engineering & Technology. With several years of experience in telecommunication network deployment, Dr. Moniruzzaman has also tutored in computer systems analysis and mathematics. He is an active member of IEEE. His research interests encompass AI and image processing in medical research, AI applications in robotics, and computer vision.
