A blended mode webinar has been organized by IEEE HS RSC, in collaboration with MRTG Power Diagnostics Tests Pvt. Ltd. (MRTG PDT PL), Hyderabad and in association with student branches SRIT, Ananthapuramu, VNRVJIET, Hyderabad Vignan’s Foundation for Science Technology and Research (VFSTR), Guntur, on the topic” How to improve performance of Turbine Generators (TG) through Mechanical Auxiliaries Upgradations” with the resource person Sri U. Sridhar, Former AGM, Chief of TG Engg & R&D, BHEL, from 11.00 am to 1 pm on 25-04-2023.

Sri PGS Kumar, Director (Technical) MRTGPDTPL, has welcomed the gathering.  Sri Somnath Pal Chair IEEE HS RSC has addressed the participants and stated about Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety (RAMS) Analysis in maintaining processes. Several experts from field Engineers of BHEL, Vijayawada Thermal Power Station (VTPS) Retd. Chief Engineer, earlier resource person Sri KM Vishnu Murthy, Ch. V. Satyanarayana, Kothamasu Venkata Rao, Sri Venkata Krishnaiah and academicians participated in the webinar.  The faculty from EEE and Mechanical Engineering and students from Mechanical Engineering of the above institutions have participated in the event.

2. Supplementary cooling for updating of TG
3. Innovative slip ring to enhance the life of TG etc.

Question and Answer session was handled by Sri PGS Kumar Technical Dirctor (MRTG PDPL) and several experts shared their invaluable experiences on the topic.  Sri K.M. Vishnu Murthy has mentioned about a text book being printed by BHEL as “Malfunctions in Electrical Machines” Sri Ch.V. Satyanarayana, Retd. CE, VTPS has shared his rich experience in temperature control strategies of TG.
