Biography:
Dr. Prutha Kulkarni is an accomplished Assistant Professor at Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology, Pune, India. With a specialization in Antenna Miniaturization, she has over ten years of research experience in the field of Antennas and Metamaterials for Wireless Applications. Driven by her passion for wireless technology, her current research work primarily focuses on Metamaterial-inspired antenna design, miniaturized antennas for GPS, CubeSat, and IoT applications, as well as her keen interest in 5G technology. She possesses extensive knowledge and expertise in utilizing software tools such as CST and ADS for advanced antenna simulations and analysis. Her research contributions have led to the publication of two granted Australian patents, with two published Indian patents, demonstrating her innovative thinking and problem-solving skills. Additionally, being an author of technical books in the domain of Wireless communications, she has authored papers in SCI and Scopus indexed journals, as well as international and national conferences, showcasing her research prowess and commitment to knowledge dissemination.
Apart from her academic achievements, she actively contributes to the academic community as an active reviewer for prestigious journals and conferences, including IEEE, ATI, IJPAP, and NCNMT. She is a proud member of the IEEE AP-S (Antennas and Propagation Society) and MTT-S (Microwave Theory and Techniques Society) societies, where she currently serves as the Vice-Chair of the IEEE APS/MTT/EMC Joint Chapter, Pune Section. Her dedication to research and exceptional teaching abilities have earned her recognition as a valuable asset to the academic institution.
She holds Ph.D. in Information and Communication Engineering with a specialization in Miniaturization of LP and CP Antennas from Anna University, Chennai. She completed her M.E. in Electronics and Telecommunication from Pune Institute of Computer Technology, Pune, and her B.E. in Electronics and Telecommunication from Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology, Pune. Beyond her academic pursuits, she is actively involved in sponsored projects, collaborating with prestigious institutions and organizations. Her current projects include working on a Multiband Metamaterial absorber for Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai, and antenna miniaturization and matching for Vibration Sensing Machine at Infinite Uptime India Pvt. Ltd Recognizing her contributions to the field, she has been honored with the "International Best Researcher Award" at the ISSN International Research Awards and Congress (IIRAC) in the RF and Microwave Domain. With her strong background in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, effective teaching methodologies, and a proven track record of guiding and motivating students, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the field of antenna miniaturization, wireless technology, and research. She remains dedicated to pushing the boundaries of antenna design and wireless communication, making valuable contributions to academia, industry, and society as a whole.
