- Beth Silverman – Plexim – sent an email – is open to providing speakers, sponsor meetings, other ideas
- January – kick off – shall we ask Plexim to sponsor this event or shall we hold off and do a nice dinner inviting all industries with 50-60$ per table?
- PES Boston organized dinner for 65-70$ a plate at a hotel on I-95 for <100 people last year, and the event neither got profit nor loss
- Logistics discuss
- February - Distinguished lecture
- Ask Brad
- Based out of Boston, or passing Boston
- Doesn’t need to be DL program
- March – Poster/round table discussion competition for all IEEE enrolled grad/undergrad students? Online/in-person?
- 1 hour session - Round table discussion session with 10 listeners = 1 speaker, multiple tables, with 1 speaker per table, and audience rotates every 15 min, multiple speakers in one room, speaker delivers talk 3 times in an hour (saw at a public health conference, interesting idea, shall we try one, uses less resources than a poster competition with banners etc.)
- If we say location as MIT, it pulls crowds grad students from NE region, preferably before or after spring break
- Co-ordinate with IEEE PES Boston?
- How to engage industries –
- Maybe we do events at the company sites
