2024 Spring Membership Elevation Meeting
2024 Spring Membership Elevation Project on 4-20-2024
The virtual meeting will start at 11:00 a.m. and ends by 12:00 p.m. (noon) on April 20, 2024 followed by a Drive Thru Grab and Go host by Metro LA Section at Stonefire Grill in Pasadena CA (Stonefire Grill, 473 N Rosemead Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91107). The participants can do their Drive Thru after they complete their assignments as requested by Dr. Huang, the Section Membership Chair.

This is addressed to three groups:
- to those who want to be elevated to the IEEE senior member (SM) level and are ready to fill the application. If you do, please send an email to Dr. Huang with your resume, your membership number, and a brief about your 5-year significant performance / achievements in IEEE designated fields. - The other Group is addressed to those members that are already senior members. They want to contribute to the profession as a reference to applicants. Please send Dr. Huang an email with your membership number if you want to be a reference. Please cc the Event Chair: eremitam@outlook.com
- The other Group are typically YPs seeking help for them to plan ahead to qualify for the Senior membership as early as possible in their careers and want to learn as much as possible from qualified /experienced engineers
Metro LA Section Elevation Committee, led by Dr. Huang, the Metro LA Membership Elevation Chair, is making a great effort to help members apply for Senior membership. To qualify, the applicant must have been in the IEEE-designated profession fields for 10 years or longer. Senior member is the highest honor a member can apply for. The next step is Fellow grade; to be nominated for a Fellow, the nominator must be a senior member or a Fellow. The member has to be a senior member at least 3 years.
The grade of Fellow recognizes unusual distinction in the profession and shall be conferred only by invitation of the Board of Directors upon a person of outstanding and extraordinary qualifications and experience in IEEE-designated fields, and who has made important individual contributions to the profession. The nomination process is very time consuming; however, the section nomination chair, Ms. Eremita Miranda (eremitam@outlook.com) is willing to spend the time to help members achieve the Fellow grade. She requires that the candidate must have contributed to the section as a high performer officer. For more information on the fellow program, please go to: www.ieee.org/fellow.
