Abstract: Project management as a knowledge stream is evolving and is catching up with new ways of development process, increased complexity of technology, customer, and ecosystem. This talk sets the context of project management as a body of knowledge and how project management is evolving in view of challenges in managing complex engineering solutions. The talk intends to discuss on how Agility and lean principles are shaping project management streams along with sharing challenges of managing complex technology programs meeting customer needs and advancing progress. It is also important to assess impact of AI and automation in project management and factors impacting global technology projects in view of pandemic, part shortage, talent war and geopolitical dynamics

Biography:

Lalit Parmar is an experienced engineering and project management leader with 28 years in industry, managing software-hardware systems and solutions development. He is currently the Head of PMO for Tektronix India. He has worked in multiple Fortune-500 companies like ABB, Philips Innovation Campus, NXP semiconductors, Nokia, Accenture and Fortive.

While managing solutions development and programs across these companies and working on wide variety of technologies like consumer electronics, semiconductors, mobility, healthcare solutions and electronics test and measurement solution, he has experienced challenges unique to these industries and program management. He will be sharing these experiences and learnings in managing complex technology programs in this talk.

He completed his B.E. (Electronics Engg.) from V,NIT, Nagpur. He completed Executive General Management Program from IIM, Bangalore. He is PMP and SAFe Agilist certified with deep experience in leading SAFe implementation. He also teaches course on Situational Leadership-II (SLX-II®) as part of his teaching passion.
