The IEEE Region 5 Houston Section is excited to extend an invitation to you for a special meet and greet event with the R5 Director Dr. Matt Francis.  This event promises to be an engaging and insightful opportunity to connect with a key leader who will be steering our organizations initiatives in the South Region to focus of meeting the needs our our members and local economies.  This event is not only an occasion to meet Matt personally but also a chance to gain insights into the strategic direction and future plans for our region.  We look forward to your presence and the opportunity to celebrate this new chapter together.

Matt Francis Matt Francis of Ozark Integrated Circuits, Inc

Biography:

Matt is founder and President/CEO of Ozark Integrated Circuits, Inc, where he leads development of high-temperature semiconductor computing solutions for energy, defense, aerospace and space applications. Dr. Francis is an expert in the scalable design, manufacturing and assembly of extremely reliable single-board computers, from silicon/silicon carbide semiconductors to advanced packaging, ceramics and test for reliability – including their complex supply chains. His company's XNode(R) high temperature single board computers are breaking new ground in energy exploration, aerospace and space, and Ozark's work has been recognized as a MassChallenge (Houston Cohort) accelerator Gold Award (2020) winner, the Army XTech Hypersonic Manufacturing Prize (2022) 2nd place winner, amd in the American Made Geothermal Prizes (2021-2023) and finally as the 2023 Arkansas Business Innovation Pacesetter. Dr Francis served as a remote payload specialist for Ozark IC’s payloads on the International Space Station (2019 2021), and earned BSEE (’03), BS Physics (’04), MSEE (’07) and PhD (’09) degrees from the University of Arkansas.
