Protection and Controls :The Brains of a Substation
This seminar will explore the main types and principal technical aspects of AC High Voltage Substations. The focus will be on understanding the main components, configurations, arrangements, and the typical steps that engineers have to take during the development of a typical distribution substation project. The seminar will also discuss the pivotal role of Protection and Controls (P&C) subsystems and how it interacts with and protects each piece of major equipment in a substation. A comprehensive review of the basics of Relay Protection will also be featured, and practical examples of real project diagrams and schemes will also be shown. In essence, the seminar will present valuable insights into the fascinating world of high voltage substations engineering and answer the question: Why the P&C subsystems can be considered the brains of any substation?
