Building on the success of the first day, the IEEE College Orientation continued on September 13, 2023, with an array of activities designed to further engage and empower first-year students. The focus of the second day was on providing more hands-on experiences, facilitating networking, and offering insights into specific technical areas within IEEE.
The second day commenced with specialized technical workshops led by experienced IEEE members and industry professionals. These workshops covered diverse topics such as coding, robotics, artificial intelligence, and other emerging technologies. The aim was to provide students with practical skills and insights into the latest trends in technology.An interactive session showcased previous projects undertaken by IEEE members, providing first-year students with a glimpse into the exciting possibilities within the IEEE community. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and express interest in joining ongoing or upcoming projects.Parallel sessions were organized, focusing on different technical tracks within IEEE. Students could choose sessions aligned with their interests, enabling them to delve deeper into specific areas of technology and gain a better understanding of the opportunities available within IEEE.A networking luncheon provided an informal setting for students to connect with each other, IEEE members, and industry representatives.
