SAMWAD 2023 - GUEST LECTURE SERIES
The event aimed to inspire and empower female participants by organizing a guest lecture featuring a renowned speaker in the field of engineering. The lecture focused on the challenges and triumphs of women in engineering, aiming to motivate and encourage more women to pursue careers in the field.
SAMWAD'23, an engaging and vibrant space that goes beyond the ordinary, where we joyfully acknowledge the accomplishments of women in technology, takes center stage in actively nurturing a culture that propels women in engineering (WIE) to not only recognize but embrace their distinctive perspectives within the realm of technology. IEEE-MSB, the central India's largest technical professional organization, is dedicated to the advancement of technology for the betterment of humanity.
The central theme of the symposium revolves around "Breaking Boundaries, Building Bridges." This theme reflects the determination to overcome gender disparities in the engineering profession and create a more inclusive and equitable environment.This theme portrays not just the importance but also the improvements in the field of engineering due to the decrease in the discrimination and increasing participation from the women.
Mr. Sanjeev Somasundaram, in his role as Google's Talent Acquisition Head, delivered an enlightening guest lecture that served as a riveting exploration into the intricacies of talent management. The lecture provided students with a firsthand glimpse into the cutting-edge practices and innovation that define Google's approach to building and sustaining a world-class workforce. Mr. Somasundaram also delved into the hiring standards commonly employed in the industry, aiming to facilitate and encourage women's entry into the dynamic field of technology.
The guest lecture, attended by a diverse group of over 450 students, went beyond theoretical discussions, offering practical insights and tips for navigating the complex landscape of the professional world. It was not merely an academic exercise but a valuable experience that provided students with tangible guidance for their future endeavors.
In addition to the guest lecture, the talk show featuring Ms. Neha Agrawal Ma'am was an extraordinary experience for the students. Witnessing her energetic aura in person, not just on a YouTube screen, added a unique dimension to the event. The overwhelming participation in the talk show solidified it as a resounding success. The insights shared by both Mr. Somasundaram and Neha Agrawal Ma'am, distinguished industry leaders, added tremendous value to the overall event, leaving a lasting impact on the diverse audience in attendance.
