Javier Garza of Bartec
Methods of Protection in Hazardous (Classified) Locations, NEC 500, 501, 502-504 and 505
This presentation will discuss the protection methods allowed under a specific area classification. This will include discussing how there may be alternative equipment that still meets the requirements but would offer less maintenance, cost, weight, etc.
Biography:
Javier Garza has an Engineering degree from Texas A&M. Have been involved in low voltage power distribution and controls since starting with an OEM making plastic injection molding machines. My experience includes custom controls for non-hazardous (UL 508A) and hazardous areas (UL 698A). These included MCCs, VFD cabinets, PLC & HMI programming, combination motor starters, bus boxes, etc. I’ve been the designated UL representative for a company as well as an attendee at National Code standards meetings. I transitioned into sales, and I am now the Business Development Manager for Bartec where we are the manufacture of globally rated explosion protected products including Class 1 Division 1 & 2, ATEX and IECEx Zone 1, and well as other global certifications.
