The Bi-annual Bridgestone World Solar Challenge atracts teams from around the globe to challenge to Stuart Hwy from Adelaide to Darwin in solar/Electric vehicles. 2023 was the 17th running of the event and the Flinders University Solar team (FAST) achieved their long held objectve and finished the event.
Designing, building and running a bespoke solar car is no easy feat, nor is the 3020 km distance that separate Darwin and Adelaide.

Biography:
Robert is the supervisor of the Electrificaton Hub at Flinders University, which draws together multple like projects and actvites around the migraton from fossil based fuel to renewable energy for the creaton, management and utlisaton of electrical power for all forms of transport and fixed applicatons. During his career, Robert, a graduate of Monash University in Mechanical Engineering, has been at the leading edge of Design and Development of vehicles, their componentry and subsystems in the automotve sector. Prior to joining Flinders University, he was in leadership roles in Engineering at an Original Equipment vehicle manufacturer. For the past decade, Robert has been involved with the electric vehicle sector, its applicaton in everyday transport and specialist environments.
